The new ECCO calibration process in VSX 5.0 allows every user to go in depth with calibrating VSX to his or her own unique ears.
The calibration process uses sample audio tracks and tones to dial in the right measurement. Depending on your DAW though, certain users may have to take extra steps to get these audio samples to play.
For users who are unable to get audio to play when running the ECCO Test in their DAW, please note that the solution will vary from one DAW to another as each DAW differs in how it allocates processing power to to audio plugins to play samples like if they are Instrument Plugins. This article will go over solutions/workflows for various DAWs.
Logic Pro:
Logic Pro users have two options for getting the ECCO Test audio to play:
1. Insert VSX on your Stereo Out. Then insert the TestOsc plugin (comes stock with Logic Pro) either before VSX on your Master Out, or an audio track. Then bypass the TestOsc plugin and you will be able to hear the ECCO Test audio in VSX now. We have included a template session below as well, with this already configured.

2. Again, insert VSX on your Stereo Out. Then press Play in your Logic session. Now you will be able to hear the ECCO Test audio in VSX regardless of whether playback is still engaged in Logic.
Ableton Live:
Ableton Live users can simply insert the VSX plugin on an audio track or the Master Fader (called "Main" by default). Then users will be able to play the ECCO Test audio without needing to configure anything else in Ableton.
Pro Tools:
Pro Tools users will first create a stereo audio track, and a Master Fader track, and insert VSX on either track. Then, engage Input Monitoring on your audio track. Now you will be able to play the ECCO Test audio regardless of whether Input Monitoring is still engaged on your audio track.
Luna:
Luna users will first create an audio track, and insert VSX on either that audio track or the Master Fader Track (called "Main"). Then users will need to toggle Input Monitoring on and off on their audio track. Now you will be able to play the ECCO Test audio regardless of whether Input Monitoring is still engaged on your audio track.
Reaper:
For Reaper, the ECCO Test will play once you load an audio track (regardless of whether its record enable). Go to Track → Insert New track in the Reaper menu bar.
Cubase:
Cubase users can simply add the VSX plugin on the Stereo Out, the Control Room Monitor Insert Area or on a stereo audio track. Then users will be able to play the ECCO Test audio without needing to configure anything else in Cubase.
Studio One
Studio one users can add VSX to a stereo audio track or the Master fader or the Listen Bus. Then users will be able to play the ECCO Test audio without needing to configure anything else in Studio One.
