VSX users will be happy to know that all VSX licenses (including expansions) come with three activations per license, so you can activate the license on up to three devices at a time! This can be three separate computers (via Machine ID) or three iLok dongles, or a combination.
Users can log in to the iLok License Manager app with their iLok ID and password to see how many activations are currently being used per license.
NOTE: The iLok ID is a different account from your Slate Audio user account, and may have different credentials, depending on what you set for your iLok ID and iLok password. If you do not remember your iLok password, you can reset it at ilok.com
Activating on a 2nd/3rd machine:
Authentication Failed Error:
If users get an error message saying "Authentication failed" then that would mean that the license has either already been activated before or is on another machine so now all activations have to be done manually.
Manual Activation:
Sometimes, the Slate Audio Center will have issues with activating iLok licenses. In this case, you will need to manually activate from the iLok License Manager app, by doing the following:
1. Sign in to iLok License Manager, click on your profile.
2. Go to the available tab.
3. Locate your product, click on it, then click activate (checkmark in upper right corner).
4. Click on the option to deposit license to a valid location.
Once activated, you will be able to access your VSX content, without needing to do anything further in the Slate Audio Center.
